Shakeb is an undergraduate student at Dartmouth College from Ranchi, India. His primary fields of academic interest are Economics and Literary Theory. As a James O. Freedman Research Scholar in Economics, he is currently conducting research into the cross-state impact of unemployment insurance benefits on food security. Shakeb also studies literary theory as a way of conceptualizing and enhancing the conduct of his social existence and his participation in the professional world. To that end, he is a staunch Derrida guy and takes pleasure in Adrienne Rich and Salman Rushdie’s respective literary projects.

Shakeb practices filmmaking and works in the visual medium. He subscribes to the tenets of auteur theory and seeks to imagine his filmmaking as a holistic cognitive experience sans the constraints of hyperspecialization. Shakeb has previously worked on a variety of short and feature films in Berlin and New York City.
